  • Allowing frequent trips to the restroom
  • Allowing student to sit or stand
  • Allowing student access to food or drink
  • Rescheduling tests or exams
  • Submitting work after a missed deadline due to pregnancy or childbirth
  • Providing opportunities to make up missed work
  • Flexibility for absences due to pregnancy or childbirth

Title IX

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits and protects students from sex discrimination based on pregnancy, childbirth, recovery from pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, lactation, or related medical conditions in education programs or activities including academic, extracurricular, research, occupational training, or other education program or activity of schools that receive Federal financial assistance.

Child Care

ECC offers high-quality on-campus child care for students through the Early Childhood Lab School. The lab school offers full- and part-time early learning and preschool programs for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Children receive safe, dependable, and attentive care at reasonable rates and in a convenient location for parents.

The lab school collaborates with various types of financial aid, including the state of Illinois Child Care Assistance Program. Financial aid and state subsidies are accepted.
