Meet Leslie Galvan
Elgin Community College (ECC) student Leslie Galvan of St. Charles, Illinois, immigrated to the US with her two brothers in 2021. Galvin’s ECC journey began in English as a Second Language (ESL) and pre-algebra courses. She pursued college credit classes after improving her English and basic academic skills.

Travel to Urbania, Italy, with Elgin Community College
Registration for Elgin Community College’s (ECC) summer study abroad program is now open. This year’s program will take students to Urbania, Italy, from June 28 through July 28, 2025. Students interested must apply by February 15, 2025, at elgin.edu/studyabroad.
