Women's History Month 2025

Elgin Community College (ECC) is celebrating Women’s History Month with events, discussions, and activities throughout the month of March. The first event on Thursday, March 6, “Glow Up Health and Wellness Fair,” is a day dedicated to health, wellness, and self-care.

During the event, ECC students, employees, and community members can connect with local vendors and resources that help women glow from the inside out and prioritize their well-being. Twenty-two local vendors will be in attendance, along with five features happening on-stage for organizations to showcase their work from 10:45 am to 12:45 pm.

The features include Elevetate Coaching and Consulting, The League of Women Voters of the Elgin Area, Ecker Center for Behavioral Health, Light Lounge At Vern’s, and Tribu de Mujeres by Davila Consulting LLC.

This event will run from 10 am to 1 pm in the Jobe Lounge, located in Building B of ECC’s Spartan Drive Campus at 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

In addition to the “Glow Up Health and Wellness Fair,” ECC is hosting the following events to honor WHM: 

Women’s Leadership Luncheon

Tuesday, March 11, 11:30 am to 1 pm

Building E, Room E121, Dining Room, at ECC’s Spartan Drive Campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin, Ill.

Latinas Leading Change – A Celebration of Women in Government

Monday, March 17, 11 am to 12:15 pm

Building B, Jobe Lounge, at ECC’s Spartan Drive Campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin, Ill.

Celebrate WHM by honoring Latinas in government. This event, co-hosted by ECC's Center for Civic Engagement (CCE), will highlight the groundbreaking achievements of Latinas in politics, public service, and leadership roles.

 

Author Spotlight – Meg Bucaro

Thursday, March 20, 10 to 11 am

Building G, Room G100, Spartan Auditorium, at ECC’s Spartan Drive Campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin, Ill.

Join us for an empowering Author Spotlight on Meg Bucaro’s book, “Put Your Big Girl Pants On…and Other Power Moves To Increase Influence.” Bucaro will share key insights from her book, discussing powerful strategies women can use to take charge, boost confidence, and make a lasting impact.
