Alternative Text
Images
To add alternative text to images, right-click on the image, and select Alt Text.
This opens another window to add the alt text title and description.
When writing alternative text, try closing your eyes and noting what you can recall seeing to aid description. Avoid using "photo of" or "image of" as screen readers don't need them to understand the content.

Charts and Graphs
Ideally, display the data table below for the graphs. That way, screen reader users can access the data related to graphs. If that is not possible, you can add alt text. If not possible, add alt text with all relevant information to ensure accessibility. Adding the alt text to the chart or graph is the same procedure as adding the alt text to images.
Select the chart or graph, right-click on it, and select Alt text.
Selecting "Alt Text" opens another window to add the alt text title and description.
When writing alt text for charts and graphs, focus on simplifying the idea. Ask yourself: What does this graph illustrate? What is the main point or key information conveyed by the chart?
