SWANS (Students for Wellness, Acceptance, and Non-discrimination Society) creates a safe space for individuals to express themselves freely. The organization promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion at Elgin Community College and local schools. SWANS educates students on LGBTQ+ issues, including hate crimes, political challenges, acceptance, tolerance, HIV/AIDS awareness, and stereotypes. By fostering an atmosphere of support, SWANS creates a culture that values diversity, advocates for equity, and champions inclusivity.
