Student Government

Student Government club members at welcome week event.

Student Government at ECC is vital in advocating for student welfare and supporting student clubs and organizations. It ensures that the needs and interests of the student body are represented, providing a voice in campus decision-making. Each year, four executive officers, 12 senators, and the Student Member of the Community College District 509 Board are elected. These officials collaborate to shape a campus that reflects students' values, prioritizing both academic and social growth.

Being involved in Student Government offers students a unique opportunity to develop essential political and leadership skills. By engaging in discussions, advocating for change, and organizing events, students gain hands-on experience in governance, problem-solving, and teamwork. This involvement enhances the campus experience and prepares students for leadership roles in their future careers. It instills confidence, responsibility, and a deep understanding of effective leadership.

At ECC, we believe that student voices matter and that every student has the power to influence positive change. Whether you're passionate about a cause, want to be heard, or aim to improve the campus community, Student Government welcomes you. There's always a place to get involved and make an impact. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
