How do I know what to do next to build my future career?
It can be daunting, overwhelming, and confusing to think about the future. Most people are unsure what they should think about, let alone ready to act. If that describes you, you are not alone!

How do I meet people in my future field?
Did you know that 80 percent of people find jobs through networking? If you start building relationships with people today, you can have a network of people who can help you in the future.
Meet with Career Development Services to help you brainstorm ways to connect with people, in your way, on your terms. Do a job shadow or have a career conversation with someone who already works in your future career field to learn more. Connect with people on professional social media networks like LinkedIn. Contact someone you respect in your future career field and ask them to be your mentor. We can help show you how.
How do I get an internship or other relevant work experience?
One of the most important things you can do to earn your degree is to build your work experience simultaneously. Employers look for recent grads who have the right education and work experience.
- Secure an internship to begin using your new skills in the workplace. Employers expect to see internship experience on candidates’ resumes. Will you have one on yours?
- Get a part-time job that will get you closer to your career of interest and help you develop your skills.
