Kid's College at Elgin Community College
Parents often find it difficult to find summer activities for their children that are convenient, fun, and affordable. At Elgin Community College (ECC), the Kids’ College program features a variety of enjoyable and educational activities for all interests and ages. New this summer, ECC Kids’ College is launching a five-week, full-day summer program (Monday through Thursday) focused on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) for children ages 5 to 10. You can sign up for one week or register for all five weeks for a discounted rate.
The summer program will rotate each week through the following subjects:
- Week 1: Space Explorers (July 7 through 10)
- Week 2: Technology Titans (July 14 through 17)
- Week 3: Future Engineers (July 21 through 24)
- Week 4: Young Artists (July 28 through 31)
- Week 5: Mighty Mathematicians (August 4 through 7)
“Both of my kids have taken Kids’ College at ECC,” said Elissa Kojzarek. “These sessions allow them to explore their interests in a smaller setting. My younger son was interested in art, and the Kids’ College classes let him explore that without committing to a long-term activity. The affordability and short-term options allow them to explore multiple interests, try new things, and give them a creative outlet.”
The summer STEAM program registration begins on February 15 with an early bird special ($180/week or $880 for all five weeks) that ends on February 28. Regular pricing ($199/week or $975 for all five weeks) begins March 1. The program will run Monday through Thursday, from 9 am to 3:30 pm, at ECC’s Spartan Drive Campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin, Ill.
In addition, ECC Kids’ College will offer shorter programs and familiar favorites for parents who want to provide their children with enrichment opportunities, such as self-defense (ages 5 to 14), coding (ages 8 to 14), firefighting 101 (ages 12 to 16), and art (ages 8 to 16).
