Elgin Community College (ECC) is seeking feedback from its community through an open comment forum, available now through February 2025 at elgin.edu/about/hsi. On February 12 and 20, community forums will also be held to discuss the college’s Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) mission.
ECC is committed to enhancing services for Latinx students and its broader community. As part of this process, ECC’s leadership team has dedicated resources to developing a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) Strategic Plan to clarify the mission and identity as an HSI.
“We believe that community input is essential to creating a strategic plan that reflects the aspirations and priorities of our entire district,” said Kristina Garcia, ECC’s interim assistant vice president of teaching, learning, and student development. “Together, we can ensure this plan drives impactful programs, resources, and partnerships for years to come.”
In addition to the open comment forum, ECC will host three community forums:
- Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin, Ill., Building E, Room E121, on Wednesday, February 12, from 5:30 to 7 pm
- Gail Borden Public Library, 260 N. Grove Avenue, Elgin, Ill., on Thursday, February 20, from 6 to 7:30 pm
- Centro De Informacion: 3036 Wakefield Drive, Carpentersville, Ill.
Spanish interpretation will be available at all community forums.
Visit elgin.edu/about/hsi for details and to RSVP (suggested but not required) for a community forum.
