Purses with Purpose

Launched in 2011, Purses with Purpose is a women's giving circle that empowers community members to support women seeking education and self-improvement. Donors, guests, and scholarship recipients come together for educational and social events held throughout the year.

We've established an endowed scholarship fund and awarded scholarships to numerous women. Purses with Purpose is the largest giving circle affiliated with the ECC Foundation. The Purses with Purpose mentor program was launched in 2018 to complement the scholarship award. Students leverage the wisdom and experience of their mentors as they quickly forge meaningful relationships.

Scholarship Recipients

Portrait of Allison Cunniff — I chose ECC because of its accredited radiology program and the opportunity to obtain MRI certification. Your support would be a tremendous help as I achieve my educational and career goals.

Portrait of Gianna Daufenbach — ECC enables me to live with my family, work, save money, and stay engaged in my community. I'm launching a "Go Green" program this summer to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship in my community. It's my way of giving back, just as I've received support at ECC.

I take my studies seriously and aim to broaden my skill set by exploring various subjects. Beyond the classroom, I actively engage in extracurricular activities and explore clubs at ECC.

Portrait of Kayla Michalowski — Scholarships help relieve some of the stress of paying for tuition, books, and travel. Grants/awards are a reward for passion and ambition.

Portrait of Tamara Towne — I strive to be the best student that I can be. Balancing life, work, and school can be extremely difficult when planning a future, but I focus on my goals and use that as my motivation!

Portrait of Tetiana Tunik-Chorna — This scholarship will be invaluable in covering my tuition and book expenses, especially given my solo journey to the USA from Ukraine six years ago.
