Certified Recovery Support Specialist Program Admissions
The CRSS program at Elgin Community College will provide high-quality recovery support training, supervised practical experience, and wrap-around support for individuals with lived experience of mental health, substance use, or co-occurring mental health and substance use recovery. This program seeks to increase the number of individuals in Illinois who successfully obtain the Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) credential through the Illinois Certification Board (ICB d/b/a IAODAPCA), as one mechanism to address the behavioral health workforce shortage.
Admission Procedure
- Attend a mandatory information session.
- Completed the ECC Application for Admission.
- Sign the CRSS Attestation Form - PDF.
- Send a copy of your high school diploma to crss@elgin.edu.
- Complete the CRSS Program Consent Request Form to obtain approval for enrolling in classes.
