Certified Recovery Support Specialist Program Admissions
The CRSS program at Elgin Community College offers high-quality recovery support training and supervised practical experience. It also provides wrap-around support for individuals with lived experience in mental health, substance use, or co-occurring recovery. This program aims to increase the number of individuals in Illinois earning the Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) credential. These credentials are awarded through the Illinois Certification Board (ICB d/b/a IAODAPCA). This initiative serves as a key strategy to address the behavioral health workforce shortage.
