Licensure & Certification Disclosures
Elgin Community College offers several programs leading to professional licensure and/or certification in the State of Illinois. Effective July 1, 2020, the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations 34 CFR 668.43 requires disclosures for all programs leading to a license or certification. All ECC programs of study are designed to meet the licensure requirements in the state of Illinois. This program has a national exam. Students who pass this exam are eligible to work in any U.S. state and territory. Please be advised that this does not guarantee admission into the program of study, as there may be a secondary admission process. Physical therapist assistants (PTA) are educated health care providers who assist the physical therapist (PT) in providing physical therapy services.
Accredited By
COMPLAINTS to the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
CAPTE has a mechanism to consider formal complaints about physical therapy education programs (PT or PTA). Please refer to the CAPTE website for complaints.
College Complaint Policy and Procedures
Complaints from clinical education sites, employers of graduates, and the general public will follow this procedure for investigation and resolution. This policy and procedure follow the organizational structure of ECC and the PTA Program. Learn more about the college procedure.
