Wellness Professional
Hello! I’m Dr. Cynthia Carlson—please call me Cyndi. I’m a licensed clinical professional counselor and board-certified art therapist with a passion for creative, holistic approaches to wellness. My background includes a Master’s in Art Therapy, yoga certification, and experience in Equine and Animal-Assisted Therapy.
Before joining Elgin Community College, I worked with youth and young adults in group homes and alternative schools, helping them build the skills and confidence needed for college and independent living.
I love using art and creativity to support both academic and emotional growth, especially through community art projects that foster connection and self-expression. I view counseling as a collaborative journey—you’re in the lead, and I’m here to listen, support, and walk alongside you.
