Nick Brown, student success coach, is an Elgin Community College Alum and is happy to be back in the hallways he once graced as a student. “My favorite thing about ECC is the community,” said Brown. “I have enjoyed my time as a student and now as an employee.” Brown began in his role just this past year, assisting students with academic challenges and guiding them on their path toward success.
Brown grew up in the area and attended Hampshire High School. After his own time at ECC, Brown transferred to Northern Illinois University to complete his bachelor’s degree. Read on and learn more about return-Spartan, Brown!
Where is the best place you’ve traveled, or where is somewhere you dream of going, and why? Upstate New York is the best place I have traveled to. I enjoy being out in nature; the mountains are also a bonus.
Binge watcher, book club, or both? Book club, for sure. I personally can’t binge-watch TV.
Cats, dogs, or house plants? Cats. I am a big fan of any/all cats.
What is your favorite meal to cook or favorite dish to eat out? I enjoy cooking Indian and Chinese food. I don’t think I can pick one favorite.
What’s on your playlist/podcast list? The Wisdom Podcast is my personal favorite. I enjoy a wide range of music, but Frank Ocean would most likely be my favorite artist.
