ECC's Project Backpack
Project Backpack, the annual community resource fair and school supply giveaway, returns to Elgin Community College (ECC) on Saturday, August 2, from 9 am to 1 pm in Building J, 1700 Spartan Drive. In addition to free backpacks filled with school supplies for eligible students, this year’s event will feature onsite physical and dental clinics — an offering designed to help families prepare for the school year with essential health services.
ECC is proud to partner with local health providers to make these clinics possible. Licensed professionals will be available to offer school and sports physicals and dental exams required for school enrollment. These services will be provided at no cost to families on a first-come, first-served basis during the event.
“Project Backpack is a powerful example of what our community can accomplish when we come together,” said Gema Atta, student life coordinator at Elgin Community College. “With your help, we can ensure hundreds of students walk into the new school year with confidence and the supplies they need to thrive.”
