ECC Student Jaylen Wells
Elgin Community College freshman Jaylen Wells was surprised by the size of the ECC campus. “Not just the buildings, but the people. It is so diverse, I love being around everyone,” Wells said.
Coming from a very athletic family, Wells’ dad played professional basketball, his mom was a diver in college, and his older brother did track in college. While basketball is his favorite, Wells also enjoys golf and participated in track in high school.
Originally from Terra Haute, Indiana, Wells was recruited to play basketball for ECC. “I got a few D1 offers for track, but I really wanted to play basketball, and ECC was the best option,” he said.
Currently completing his general education courses, Wells is enjoying his time at ECC and the Elgin area. “This is much different from my hometown, I am excited to explore more,” Wells said.
