Attending Elgin Community College for the last two years has been a great journey. ECC has allowed me to enhance not only my educational career but also my softball career. I have played softball for the last 15 years, and I was unsure if I could continue playing once I reached the collegiate level.
One piece of advice I would give future students at any age would be to continue their passion no matter how hard, difficult, or impossible it may seem. Having a passion for what you do will take you a long way and help you overcome any difficulties you may experience in life. “Work hard but play harder” is a quote I like to live by because life is too short not to be able to stop and enjoy it. Enjoy what you do because you will never have to work a day in your life if you do. Even though life will always throw you curveballs, if you continue to work hard, you will be able to overcome even the most difficult hardships while still enjoying everything and everyone around you. Sometimes, the greatest hardships become an even greater and more appreciated success. ECC has allowed me to pursue my passion for playing softball while earning my associate in arts degree, and I greatly appreciate that opportunity.
