Elgin Community College’s (ECC) Marketing and Communications Department took top honors at the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 3 Conference, more than any other participating institution in the region.

The department placed in 13 categories. The college received six gold, one silver, and six bronze Medallion awards recognizing excellence in print design, digital, video, and photography. District 3 includes institutions across Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Ontario, Canada.

The NCMPR Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design, marketing, and communications among community and technical colleges by region. For ECC, the recognition underscores how strategic storytelling and creative outreach directly support student enrollment, community engagement, and awareness of college resources.

ECC earned gold Medallions for the spring 2026 edition of Impact magazine, the Spartan Start Student Guide booklet, the Manufacturing Campaign webpages, a 2026 Black History Month poster and illustration, and an ECC Arts Center window graphic.

The college also received a silver award for ECC’s Coffee House Writers Center postcard and bronze awards for the IGNITE Your Future Summer commercial, original photography for a Criminal Justice program campaign, the new certificate launch for ECC’s Eye Care Tech program, the social media campaign Office Space, and the Follow the Yellow Brick Road ECC Foundation Gala Invite.

ECC’s Marketing and Communications department has now earned more than 125 state, regional, and national awards in the past seven years, reflecting the college’s ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence in communicating its mission.

The Medallion Awards are part of a regional competition that recognizes outstanding marketing and public relations achievements at community and technical colleges across NCMPR’s seven districts. This recognition reflects the creativity, collaboration, and dedication our Marketing and Communications team brings to every project.

The Medallion Award winners were announced October 6, 2026, at NCMPR’s annual District 3 conference in Madison, Wisconsin.
