In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Elgin Community College’s Office of Student Life will host several events throughout October to raise awareness, promote empowerment, and provide resources for students and the community.
In collaboration with the Community Crisis Center, ECC is using this awareness month to educate students about healthy relationships, recognize warning signs of abuse, and provide guidance on where to seek help.
“Awareness is the first step toward change,” said Gema Atta, student life coordinator at ECC. “By providing education and resources through our partnership with Community Crisis Center, we want students to know they are not alone. Help is available, and there is power in speaking up and supporting one another.”
All events will take place at ECC’s Spartan Drive campus located at 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin, Illinois.
