Elgin Community College (ECC) drew a record attendance of more than 770 attendees at its annual College Night held on October 15, 2025, at 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. The strong turnout reflects the college’s ongoing collaboration and partnership across the institution and community.

The free event, open to all current college students, high school students, and prospective students,  offered direct connections with representatives from more than 150 in-state and out-of-state colleges and universities. Attendees and their families learned more about transfer options, admission requirements, academic programs, scholarships, and campus life.

Students also used the StriveScan - College Fair Scanning App to connect with schools of interest.

The top five most scanned universities of the evening were:

  1. Northern Illinois University (NIU)
  2. Illinois State University (ISU)
  3. University of Illinois Chicago (UIC)
  4. University of Tennessee–Knoxville
  5. DePaul University

“College Night was a great success with record-high attendance this year,” said Elizabeth Herrera, director of student recruitment and outreach at ECC. “Students had the chance to ask questions, explore their options, and discover what’s possible, all in one place. Over 150 colleges and universities came together to help students take their next step toward their future.  College representatives shared how much they enjoyed connecting with students, the organized setup, and our staff’s hospitality.”

The event was sponsored by the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) in partnership with ECC and other area schools.
