Latinx Heritage performance featuring two people
Elgin Community College (ECC) invites students, families, and the community to join its 2025 Latinx Heritage Month celebration, honoring the rich culture, history, and contributions of the Latinx community. Themed “Sazón & Soul,” this year’s programming blends music, dance, art, food, and cultural experiences designed to inspire connection and pride.

Kick off Latinx Heritage Month with music, food, and community! Meet ECC leaders, connect with students and alumni, and discover resources while enjoying an evening of dance, culture, and celebration. Families are welcome.
BFH Corridos y Canciones
Dates/Times: Saturday, October 4, 2025 | 7–9 pm and Sunday, October 5, 2025 | 3–5 pm
Location: Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin, Building H, Blizzard Theatre
Cost: Adults $25 | Seniors $22 | Children 10 and under $15
Experience a powerful evening of folk dance, music, and storytelling. Corridos y Canciones honors heritage and community through rhythm, movement, and tradition.
Midwest SOARRING Foundation Harvest Pow Wow Field Trip
Date/Time: Saturday, October 11, 2025 | 11 am – 4 pm
Location: Off-campus
Celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day with a cultural field trip to the Harvest Pow Wow, where Native American traditions of community, honor, and heritage take center stage.
Día de los Muertos Ofrenda
Dates/Times: October 27–31 and November 3, 2025 | 8 am – 9 pm
Location: Main Campus, Building B, Bookstore Hallway / E. Max von Isser Gallery of Art
Visit ECC’s community altar to celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and honor loved ones with this traditional Mexican remembrance.
National Museum of Mexican Art Field Trip
Date/Time: Friday, November 7, 2025 | 9 am – 3:30 pm
Location: Off-campus, Pilsen neighborhood, Chicago
Cost: Free – Students only (registration required at tinyurl.com/LatinxTrip25)
Students are invited to immerse themselves in Mexican art and culture at one of Chicago’s most celebrated cultural institutions.

Latinx Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15) at ECC showcases events and experiences that uplift Latinx culture while fostering community, connection, and learning. As a designated Hispanic-Serving Institution, ECC is proud to honor the stories and traditions that shape its students and community.
