On October 14, 2025, the Board of Trustees granted tenure to the following faculty members:
Patrick Carberry, assistant professor II of English; Erin Kerwood, PhD, assistant professor II of chemistry; and Mary Scherer, instructor of film and digital media.
These three faculty members join the six faculty members who were granted tenure in spring 2025: Peter Infelise, associate professor I of design; Andrew Beck, instructor of certified recovery support specialist program; Maureen Gray, PhD, assistant professor I of psychology; David Scott, instructor of HVAC; Mae Hicks Jones, PhD, associate professor I of business; and Lori Marco, assistant professor I of ophthalmic technician program.
“At ECC, our tenure process is designed to be both rigorous and supportive, helping new full-time faculty learn from one another and refine their teaching,” said Peggy Heinrich, EdD, president of ECC. “I’m so proud of these faculty members for achieving such an important milestone.”
Faculty members are eligible for tenure after being employed for three consecutive school years. Steps completed annually before being eligible for tenure include classroom visitations with their dean and peers, student evaluations, faculty content assessments, self-assessments, and yearly summary evaluation conferences.
