2024 - Elgin Community College hosts Hire Spartans Job Fair back in person on September 20

Elgin Community College invites the community to explore career opportunities at the Hire Spartans Job Fair, which is back in person for the first time since 2019. The event will take place from 10 am to 2 pm on Friday, September 20, at 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin, Ill., in the Building J, Events Center.

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and network with local employers from various industries, including manufacturing, health care, business, and more. The event is free and open to the public.

“This fair is a great opportunity for job seekers to connect with potential employers, explore career opportunities, and take the next step towards their professional goals,” said Elissa Kojzarek, director of strategic partnerships and experiential learning.

In addition to local employers, representatives from employment support organizations will be on hand with information and resources.

"Elgin Community College is committed to connecting our students and community members with local employers to strengthen the region’s workforce,” said Gina De rosier-Cook, EdD, dean of workforce development and continuing education. “The fair will feature representation from the Kane County Office of Community Reinvestment, the Illinois Department of Employment Security, and a range of partners dedicated to supporting individuals on their employment journey. The impact of the Hire Spartans Job Fair on our students, the community, and local businesses is tremendous."

The Hire Spartans Job Fair began bi-annually in 2016 and temporarily transitioned online in 2020 due to the pandemic. Approximately 3,000 attendees attended the job fair prior to the pandemic.
