Elgin Community College selects five employees to receive the 2025 National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Awards. The award recognizes outstanding faculty, staff, and administrators of community and technical colleges.
The NISOD Excellence Awards honor individuals who have shown exceptional dedication and made significant contributions to their students and colleagues," said Annamarie Schopen, EdD, the Vice President of Teaching, Learning, and Student Development. "The 2025 award recipients from ECC are a diverse group of faculty, staff, and administrators who have demonstrated excellence, compassion, and a deep commitment to both our students and the college community. They truly represent the best of ECC and play a key role in helping us fulfill our mission of improving lives through learning."
The award winners include Vinny Cascio, director of TRiO student support services; Kristina Garcia, PhD, Interim AVP for teaching, learning, and student development; Asha Raval, EdD, professor of education; Colleen Stribling, EdD, professor of English as a Second Language (ESL) and; Tim Whitney, director of corporate and community education.
In February, these individuals will represent ECC at the League for Innovation in the Community College’s Innovations Conference or the NISOD International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence in May.
ECC also submits its NISOD recipients to receive the John and Suanne Roueche Excellence Award with the League for Innovation, which celebrates outstanding contributions and leadership by community college faculty and staff.
