Representatives from 150 colleges and universities, including 33 new participants, met with Elgin Community College (ECC) students on Tuesday, October 8, at the annual College Night. This free event is designed to help students and families explore higher education options.
A total of 671 attendees registered for the event, marking an 82% increase from last year’s attendance. Strive Scan, a student scanning tool for college fairs, was used for 3,367 interactions. ECC ranked sixth in attendee scans, surpassing Bradley University (seventh), UIC (eighth), Purdue (ninth), and the University of Florida (tenth).
“We had one of the largest turnouts for College Night in recent memory,” said Lauren Nehlsen, PhD, associate dean of recruitment and outreach services and global engagement. “The early feedback we’ve received from attendees and representatives has been overwhelmingly positive. Thank you to everyone who made this night possible. Pulling off an event of this scale takes incredible teamwork, and it’s all thanks to our ongoing dedication to our students and community.”
College Night is sponsored by the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling in cooperation with ECC and other area schools. For more information, contact ECC’s Admissions & Recruitment Department at 847-214-7385.
