Elgin Community College received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, presented by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States (GFOA). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. ECC has received this award each year since 2004.
Certificate of Achievement is awarded annually to governmental units that publish an easily readable and efficiently organized comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) whose contents conform to program standards. The CAFR must satisfy generally accepted accounting principles in the United States and applicable legal requirements.
