Adult Session

Elgin Community College will hold an adult student information session on Wednesday, Dec. 1, from 6 - 7:00 p.m. in Building G, Spartan Auditorium, Room G100, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. Adults who are considering returning to school or enrolling in college for the first time are invited to attend this free event.

“This information session will provide adult prospective students with an overview of campus, academic programs, financial aid, scholarships, and Adult Education programs,” said Lauren Nehlsen, Ph.D., associate dean, recruitment and outreach services and Center for Global Engagement. “This is a wonderful opportunity to learn how to further your education at one of the top community colleges in the nation.”

ECC professional staff will be on hand to explain how to enroll in classes; explore degree and certificate options that fit an individual’s needs and career goals; evaluate prior college credit. Additionally, information about financial aid, scholarships, and payment plans will be shared. Attendees will also learn about additional college resources, including tutoring, academic advising, and career services.

Individuals can increase their skill set, employability, job security and lifetime earnings with a degree or certificate. Some programs of study offer night or weekend classes to accommodate students who work full time. Tuition reimbursement may be offered by area companies; potential students should check with their employers for details.

Pre-registration is encouraged. To register and for additional information on the adult information session, visit the Adult Info Session page. If possible, attendees should bring high-school and college transcripts if applicable. ECC’s admissions and recruitment department can be reached at 847-214-7385 or admissions@elgin.edu.
