ECC provides the training you need to start a career in the health care field. There is a high demand for nurses and other health care professionals to fill positions in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, doctors' offices, and assisted living facilities. Careers in health care offer great opportunities, stability, and rewards.

Our free Introduction to Health Care Professions course will give you an overview of the health care degrees and certificates ECC offers and help you find the right health care career.

In this course, you will:

  • Explore various health care professions through reading, lessons, films, and guest speakers.
  • Take field trips to local health care facilities.
  • Get personalized academic and career assessments.
  • Learn about the entrance requirements for ECC’s health care programs.
  • Review the academic skills needed for these programs.
  • Practice test-taking skills and strategies.
  • Discuss job skills and participate in a mock job interview.

At the end of the course, you’ll meet with a transitions coordinator to create your academic and career plan.
