High School Visits

Bring your students to Elgin Community College for an interactive campus experience! High schools within District 509 are invited to visit ECC during the fall and spring semesters to explore academic programs, tour campus, and learn about college opportunities and student support services. 

During the visit, students can:

• Learn about college admissions and financial aid
• Tour campus facilities and academic spaces
• Explore career and academic pathways
• Hear from faculty, staff, and current students
• Discover campus resources and student engagement

High School Visits are designed to help students start thinking about their future and feel confident about the college experience.

High schools within District 509 are prioritized.  Schools outside the district may contact Admissions regarding availability. 

What to Expect

A typical High School Visit may include:

• Admissions presentation with financial aid information and campus resources
• Academic program exploration through a Campus tour
• Student support services overview
• Lunch on campus (optional)

Visit Guidelines

Schedule

• Visits take place on select Thursdays and Fridays during the academic year.
• Groups should arrive by 9:45 am to start the program at 10 am and end at 12 pm. 
• Schools staying for lunch may remain until 1:00 pm.

Lunch Information

• Lunch space is available based on availability.
• Please indicate lunch plans on the registration form.
• Advance arrangements are required for cafeteria food orders.

Chaperones & Student Expectations

• One adult chaperone is required per 30 students or as required by your school district. 
• High school staff are responsible for student supervision.
• Students are expected to follow campus guidelines and respect classes in session.

Cancellations & Accomadations

• Please notify Admissions at least three business days in advance for cancellations or rescheduling.
• Schools requesting customized visits, accommodations, or ELL-focused visits should contact their Recruitment Coordinator.
