Overview
When you pursue coursework in ECC’s History and Political Science department, you’ll not only gain a deeper understanding of U.S. and world history, you’ll develop profound insights about the contemporary state of the global human community. ECC’s history and political science professors are knowledgeable and experienced instructors who specialize in the history of western civilization, Europe, Latin America, and South and East Asia. Take a deep dive into the law and history of the United States, U.S. Latino history, comparative government, and foreign relations. Hands-on learning experiences through these programs include opportunities to participate in the state-wide Model Illinois Government legislative simulation or to become an oral history research fellow. Study in history and political science may lead you to a career in a variety of fields, including education, law, journalism, business, government service, and international relations.
