Prerequisite: None. ^ The OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program introduces the essential safety and health concepts needed to work safely on construction sites and to understand worker rights under OSHA regulations. Through interactive instruction and practical examples, students learn to recognize, avoid, and prevent common construction hazards, with a strong emphasis on OSHA's Focus Four hazards. The course also covers personal protective equipment, tools, materials handling, and common health hazards found in construction environments. Students will learn to: Understand the purpose of OSHA and worker rights and responsibilities under the OSH Act Recognize and prevent the Focus Four hazards: falls, electrical, struck-by, and caught-in/between Identify common construction site hazards and apply basic hazard control measures Properly select and use personal protective equipment (PPE) Safely use hand and power tools and understand basic equipment safety principles Recognize health hazards such as silica, noise, heat, and ergonomic risks Apply safe practices for ladders, stairways, and materials handling (1.6) Proficiency Credit: Not Available Pass/No Credit: Available
