Immigration Law Compliance
Administrative Procedure 5.408
Elgin Community College is committed to only employing citizens of the United States and aliens who are legally authorized to work in the United States. ECC does not discriminate because of a person's citizenship or national origin.
Because the College complies with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, every new employee is required to complete the Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 and show documents that prove identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of the first day worked.
If an employee leaves ECC and is rehired, he or she must complete another Form I9 if the previous I-9 is more than three years old, or is no longer accurate.
