ECC Brand Guidelines
Balancing Consistency and Creativity: Evolving the ECC Brand with Purpose
The ECC Brand Guide is a living document maintained by the Marketing and Communications Division. It evolves over time to reflect the ECC brand and the college’s written and visual representation of that brand. As a guide, its purpose is to provide direction on the overall look, feel, and messaging we aim to convey—it is not a set of rigid rules. Flexibility and discretion are encouraged when appropriate.
As brand ambassadors, we remain responsive to the college’s needs and adapt to the demands of unique projects. Whether working with fonts, colors, imagery, or design elements, our designers and creative team must have the freedom to craft engaging, attention-grabbing materials while staying aligned with the core values and promise of the ECC brand.
Web Styles
All official websites under the elgin.edu domain must follow ECC’s web brand identity standards to ensure a consistent and professional look. These guidelines—covering colors, fonts, icons, layouts, and more—help maintain brand integrity, improve user experience, and reinforce the college’s credibility. ECC's comprehensive design system supports this effort, offering a style guide, reusable components, coding standards, and UI/UX principles for developers and designers.
