Safe Zone
Safe Zone is a program designed for colleges and universities to enhance knowledge of LGBTQ diversity and acceptance. It promotes a welcoming and inclusive environment for all individuals. This is achieved by providing LGBTQ education and facilitating exercises that promote new perspectives regarding:
- Stereotypes of the LGBTQ community
- Heterosexual privilege
- Challenges within the LGBTQ community regarding:
- Societal acceptance
- Their individual process of coming out
Safe Zone LGBTQ+ Training
ECC staff have multiple opportunities throughout the semester to enhance their understanding of LGBTQ+ diversity and acceptance through our Safe Zone LGBTQ+ Training.
