Native American Heritage Month

Elgin Community College celebrates Native American Heritage Month throughout November. Through movies, stories, and discussions, ECC recognizes the history, culture, and contributions of Indigenous people to our country and ensures that the stories, rituals, and traditions of Native Americans continue to be heard and passed down.

On August 3, 1990, President of the United States, George H. W. Bush, declared November National American Indian Heritage Month, also called Native American Heritage Month.
