Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Art Festival

ECC student artworks are submitted to a yearly competition where judges evaluate them. Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces are eligible. Winners in five categories receive certificates at the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) Juried Art Festival, praising student artists' skills. Judges select the best works from eight participating community colleges. Students provide their works to art teachers, who select pieces for the competition.

Skyway Writers Festival

Immerse yourself in the world of words at the Illinois Skyway Writers' Competition, where the categories of Poetry, Fiction, Drama, and Non-Fiction come to life. This writing extravaganza is not just a competition – it's a literary festival that celebrates the craft of storytelling. Winning entries in poetry, short fiction, nonfiction, and drama receive well-deserved recognition after the festival. Dive into the festivities, featuring an open mic session, readings, and workshops, and witness the power of words taking center stage.

Jazz Festival

During this annual event, student musicians and instrumentalists focusing on Tenor Sax, Trumpet, Piano, Upright Bass, Acoustic Bass, Drums/Percussion, Trombone, and various other instruments perform. Bands from the participating colleges showcase 30-minute juried programs and participate in daily master classes. Afterward, the jury of clinicians takes the stage, leading into a concert featuring the participating bands.

Skyway STEM Poster Competition

The Skyway STEM poster competition boosts enthusiasm for Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, and Technology. Participants showcase their methodologies and logical thinking to address questions in these categories. The event emphasizes creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving, providing a platform for students to demonstrate their passion and innovation in these fields.
