Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference

Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Art Festival

ECC student artworks are entered into a yearly competition where judges review and showcase them. Both two and three-dimensional pieces can be submitted. Winners are chosen in five categories and get certificates at the annual Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) Juried Art Festival. This event allows student artists to showcase their work and be recognized for their skills at a high level. Judges pick the top works from the eight community colleges participating in the ISCC. Students give their work to their art teachers, who then choose which pieces represent the college in the competition.

Skyway Writers Festival

Immerse yourself in the world of words at the Illinois Skyway Writer's Competition, where the categories of Poetry, Fiction, Drama, and Non-Fiction come to life. This writing extravaganza is not just a competition – it's a literary festival that celebrates the craft of storytelling. Winning entries in poetry, short fiction, nonfiction, and drama receive well-deserved recognition after the festival. Dive into the festivities, featuring an open mic session, readings, and workshops, and witness the power of words taking center stage.

Jazz Festival

At this annual event, student musicians and instrumentalists specializing in Tenor Sax, Trumpet, Piano, Upright Bass, Acoustic Bass, Drums/Percussion, Trombone, and other instruments take the stage. Bands from participating colleges present 30-minute juried programs and engage in daily master classes. The jury of clinicians then takes the stage, followed by a concert featuring the participating bands.

Skyway STEM Poster Competition

The Skyway STEM poster competition fosters enthusiasm for Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, and Technology. Participants showcase their field-specific methodologies and logical thinking to address questions within these STEM categories. The event highlights creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, offering a platform for students to demonstrate their passion and innovation in these essential fields.
