Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference

Art Festival

Showcase your creativity and connect with other student artists! The annual Art Competition is a great way to showcase your talent, connect with others who share a passion for art, and gain recognition for your work. Both two- and three-dimensional pieces are eligible for submission, and winners in five categories receive certificates of recognition. It’s not just about the competition—it’s about being part of a creative community that inspires and supports one another.

Skyway Writers' Festival

Immerse yourself in the world of words at the Illinois Skyway Writers' Competition, where the categories of Poetry, Fiction, Drama, and Non-Fiction come to life. This writing extravaganza is not just a competition – it's a literary festival that celebrates the craft of storytelling. Winning entries in poetry, short fiction, nonfiction, and drama receive well-deserved recognition after the festival. Dive into the festivities, featuring an open mic session, readings, and workshops, and witness the power of words taking center stage.

Jazz Festival

During this annual event, student musicians and instrumentalists focusing on Tenor Sax, Trumpet, Piano, Upright Bass, Acoustic Bass, Drums/Percussion, Trombone, and various other instruments perform. Bands from the participating colleges showcase 30-minute juried programs and participate in daily master classes. Afterward, the jury of clinicians takes the stage, leading into a concert featuring the participating bands. It’s a fantastic way to make friends, learn new skills, and be part of ECC’s vibrant music community.

STEM Poster Competition

The Skyway STEM poster competition fosters enthusiasm for the fields of Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, and Technology. Participants showcase their methodologies and logical thinking to address questions in these categories. Projects are evaluated on scientific methods, critical thinking, and creativity. Participating is a great way to build confidence, make connections, and experience the excitement of discovery alongside your peers.
