Where will your ECC experience lead you?
The Role of Athletics at ECC
Excited to Recruit Talented Athletes!
At ECC, we are committed to creating a positive and competitive environment for our student-athletes. Our intercollegiate athletic program helps students grow academically, physically, and socially. It equips them with the skills needed for success during their time at ECC and in their future careers. Eligible athletes represent the college in top competitions, enhancing their educational experience while pursuing a degree or certificate. Many of our student-athletes continue their careers at universities across the country, including Wake Forest, Coastal Carolina, and Kent State.
We integrate academics and athletics, promoting excellence in both while competing in NJCAA Region 4 events. Through this, we foster a campus-wide sense of teamwork and collaboration. Faculty, coaches, and staff work together to ensure that our athletes succeed academically, develop leadership skills, and engage in community service.
Our Spartans proudly compete against other community colleges in NJCAA Region 4, earning numerous academic and athletic honors. ECC sports teams have earned NJCAA Regional Championships in Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Baseball, and Softball. These accomplishments showcase the high level of achievement within our program.
The ACE Program for Student-Athletes
The ACE Program for Student-Athletes is another key component of our commitment to success. The Athletes Committed to Excellence (ACE) program provides essential academic support, helping students thrive in their studies, sports, and personal growth. Athletes receive free tutoring and campus resources, with tutoring hours counting toward study time, ensuring full academic support.
