ECC Summer Musical RENT.

Elgin Community College is announcing auditions for RENT.

RENT was originally produced in New York by New York Theatre Workshop and on Broadway by Jeffrey Seller, Kevin McCollum, Allan S. Gordon and New York Theatre Workshop.

Musical Director: Douglas Orlyk

Set in the East Village of New York City, RENT is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, RENT has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages.

We are casting 15-18 leading and supporting roles. 

About Auditions

Those wishing to audition should prepare an excerpt from a rock musical theatre (NOT from RENT) consisting of approximately 32 bars (1 minute). Please bring sheet music to your audition; an accompanist will be provided.

Auditions will be held on Monday, April 29 and Tuesday, April 30, 6-8 p.m. Call backs will be held May 2, 6-10 p.m.
Auditions will be held in H142.

The performances will be in the Second Space Theatre.

Note that this production is a class within the music program and enrollment is required. Tuition/fees apply.
