Overview
Sociology is a fascinating field that helps us understand important issues in our lives, communities, and the wider world. It looks at human society and the many relationships that shape our increasingly connected world. On a personal level, sociology explores the social causes and effects of topics like race, gender identity, family conflict, aging, and romantic love.
ECC students can choose from a range of sociology classes and take part in independent research projects. These opportunities let students work closely with faculty mentors, explore topics they care about, and build research skills that are useful in many careers.
