Dual Credit is a structured program between secondary schools and Elgin Community College. Research shows high school students benefit greatly by taking college courses before they graduate, often saving time and money while also being better prepared for the rigors of college. Review the programs below to learn more.
What’s Your Goal?

Accelerate College Full-Time Program: 2-Year Plan
Complete both your associate degree and high school diploma by taking classes at ECC during your junior and senior years.

Accelerate College Full-Time Program: 1-Year Plan
Complete your high school diploma and earn 30+ college credits by taking classes at ECC during your senior year.

Career Tech Part-Time Program
Get a jump-start on your chosen career path by taking some college courses at your high school or ECC during your junior or senior year.

General Ed Part-Time Program at Your High School
Start earning general education credits by taking 1 or 2 college courses taught by your high school instructors as part of your normal school schedule.

General Ed Part-Time Program at ECC
Attend your high school in the morning and then take 1 or 2 classes at ECC in the afternoon.

Early College Independent Enrollment
Attend full days at your high school and then take 1 or 2 classes of your choosing at ECC in the evening. These courses are not paid for by your high school and may not count towards high school graduation requirements.

Each participating high school determines arrangements and offerings. Is your high school a dual credit partner institution?
- District 300 (Dundee-Crown High School, Hampshire High School, and Jacobs High School)
- District 301 (Burlington Central High School)
- District 303 (St. Charles East High School and St. Charles North High School)
- District U-46 (Bartlett High School, Elgin High School, Larkin High School, South Elgin High School, and Streamwood High School)
- Private Schools (Cambridge Lakes Charter School)
