ECC Student Trustee Application Process
Being the ECC Student Trustee is an excellent opportunity to enhance your resume! As a Student Trustee, you’ll represent the student body at all general and special meetings of the Board of Trustees, gaining valuable experience and showcasing your leadership skills. This role allows you to make a real impact on campus and demonstrates your commitment and involvement to future employers.
Eligibility requirements for the ECC Student Trustee:
- Residency: The Student Trustee must live within ECC District 509.
- College Credits: By the time of application, the student trustee must have completed at least nine college-level credit hours (100 level and above) at ECC.
- Enrollment: When applying and serving, the student trustee must enroll in at least six college-level credit hours at ECC.
- GPA: The Student Trustee must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application and throughout their term.
Here’s how to apply:
- Declaration of Candidacy
Fill out the form to officially declare your intention to run for the position. - Nomination Petition
Gather signatures from fellow students to support your candidacy. - Candidate Information and Statement
Write a 500-750 word document explaining why you’re running, your past or current involvement on campus or in the community, and any other information you want to share with ECC students. Attach this document separately with your application. - Certification of Eligibility
Confirm that you meet all the eligibility requirements. - Code of Ethics
Review and agree to the code of conduct for candidates. - Faculty/Staff Recommendations
Obtain recommendations from two ECC faculty or staff members.
