Board of Trustees - Jess Heiser - Student Member

Jess Heiser, a motivated and dedicated student from St. Charles, began her journey at Elgin Community College (ECC) in 2019. With a passion for advocacy and a drive to effect change in social work, Jess is currently pursuing dual degrees—an Associate of Arts and an Associate of Applied Science in Human Services Generalist—at ECC. Inspired by a childhood desire to assist others and fueled by witnessing friends struggle with mental health issues within a flawed system, Jess is committed to making a difference. With a strong track record of self-advocacy and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities, she excels at navigating complex systems to ensure access to necessary accommodations. Eager to serve her fellow students as the ECC student trustee, Jess is ready to utilize her skills and experience to bring positive change to the ECC community.
