Board of Trustees - Jennifer Rakow, BA - Vice Chair

Born and raised in Elgin, Illinois, Jennifer Rakow attended U46 schools and graduated from Larkin High School. She received her B.A. from Boston University, Liberal Arts program, with a major in International Relations. Jennifer has spent the majority of her life in Elgin and Kane County, moving recently to St. Charles, but has also lived and worked in Europe for 10 years and is fluent in Italian and French. Jennifer has a strong appreciation for cultural diversity. She is the HR Director for IHC Construction Companies, LLC, a large and well-established construction company in Elgin, where she has worked since 2009.

Jennifer values the benefits of volunteerism and is actively involved in her community. She has been a United Way of Elgin board member since 2010, serving as 2013 Campaign Chair and as Employee Campaign Manager at IHC for 5 years. She is a graduate of the Elgin Area Leadership Academy (EALA), Class of 2010-2011, and is currently on the EALA Alumni Steering Committee. Jennifer is enrolled in Bible Study Fellowship and serves weekly on its leadership team. She also serves regularly in the Children’s Program at her church.
