ECC Foundation Donor Appreciation Breakfast

Thank you to all of our donors and scholars who were able to join us at the Donor Appreciation Breakfast on Saturday, March 9, 2024. It was such a wonderful day to celebrate our donors and student scholars. Please enjoy a few of the moments that were captured from the event. Ari Havis — ECC Foundation Executive Director Susan Taylor-Demming encourages ECC student at Scholarship event. Havis aspires to become a college English Professor, aiming to utilize her passion for writing to nurture student growth and learning. She cherishes hard work and perseverance, qualities that have propelled her to her current position.

Scholarship recipient Brandie McGee shares her future plans: "Continuing my business management degree will enhance my skills and align with my values of listening, teamwork, learning, community service, empowerment, and commitment to goals."

A family at the breakfast — Donors enjoyed a breakfast before attending a student-led program, where they heard firsthand stories of success from the students.

ECC Trustee Claire Olayos — ECC Trustee Claire Ollayos joined the event to listen to the unique stories of each scholarship recipient and to fortify the ECC Foundation, whose funding empowers students to reach their educational goals.

ECC Scholarship recipient Danielle Bowman addresses guests at the event, sharing her journey. "Despite facing significant obstacles that delayed my college start, I refuse to stay stagnant. I've conquered much, and I'm grateful for each day's opportunity. I'm prepared to strive, take chances, and flourish!"

ECC foundation employees — The ECC Foundation staff tirelessly assist students through fundraising and connecting donors with scholarship recipients. Their unwavering dedication sustains ongoing support for students each day.

Dr Sam — At the annual scholarship appreciation breakfast, Dr. Sam, the ECC president, extends thanks to donors and their guests, while also congratulating the scholarship recipients.

Your generosity enhances vital aspects of our educational community, making a lasting impression on individuals such as Megan Coumbe, who, as a Computer & Information Sciences student, shared her experiences at the event.

Princess Sombi Lansana — ECC student Princess receives a scholarship from the ECC Foundation, which opens doors to transformative education and honors her academic accomplishments. In her scholarship application, she quoted Winston Churchill: "Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm." And while she never defined her obstacles as 'failures,' she marked her success by my repeated perseverance through adversity.

Your generosity nurtures and enhances crucial elements of our educational community, profoundly affecting individuals like Ryan Lee Sr., who attended the breakfast to convey appreciation. He is determined to earn his Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts and Hospitality.
