Overview

Sociology is an exciting field of study that offers explanations for important matters in our personal lives, communities, and the world. It examines human society and the complex relationships in an increasingly global, interconnected, and complex world. At the personal level, it investigates the social causes and consequences of numerous concepts, including race and gender identity, conflict in a family, aging, and even romantic love. Sociology examines and explains issues like crime and law, poverty and wealth, prejudice and discrimination, racial and ethnic diversity, business, educational systems, and social movements at the societal level. Sociology studies migration/immigration, war and peace, economic development, and even global warming at the global level.
