I humbly wish to thank the faculty and staff at Elgin Community College from the bottom of my heart. I have a great deal of respect for each and every person I have encountered during my journey to receive an Associate in Science degree.

After graduation, I plan on becoming an early childhood education teacher because I love seeing children grow and I want to help them get a good education by encouraging them with love, support, and understanding.

I have had so much support and encouragement from each of my instructors, who were patient, positive, and very helpful to my classmates and me. ECC's student-focused programs like The Write Place, The Tutoring Center, and the TRiO Program helped me earn the grades I needed to keep a high GPA and make it on to the Dean's List. I feel so fortunate to have been selected for several scholarships offered through the ECC Foundation. It's through hard work and the support of others that I will be graduating, even though there was a time in my life when I didn't think it would be possible for me to get a college degree.

Today, I stand here so proud of my accomplishments and how far I have come. This would not have been a possibility without the help and support of my husband, sons, instructors, tutors, and everyone else who has helped me along the way. I now know what greatness feels like.
