After graduating from high school, I didn't know what career I wanted to pursue, but I did know I wanted to go to college to continue my education. I started off taking general education classes at Elgin Community College, and through my job as a certified nursing assistant, I began to explore careers in healthcare before deciding I wanted to major in nursing.

I received a lot of support from ECC and I am glad I used many of the resources offered by the college. The TRiO program, my advisors and my instructors helped me get on track. Financial aid and scholarships also contributed to helping me reach my goal and get to where I am today.

I am graduating from ECC with an Associate in Arts and I am excited to be transferring to Northern Illinois University to complete my bachelor's degree in nursing. Although I will miss ECC and being close to home, I feel prepared as I continue to learn and grow while working toward my next degree.
