Comedian Lewis Black to perform at the ECC Arts Center on March 21

The ECC Arts Center is excited to announce that acclaimed stand-up comedian Lewis Black will be bringing his “The Joke’s on US Tour” to the Arts Center on Thursday, March 21. The performance will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale on Friday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m.

Hanover Park Education and Work Center receives $225,000 operations grant

The Education and Work Center (EWC), which provides basic skills training and employment services to a traditionally underserved area, recently received a $225,000 operations grant thanks to the successful efforts of Sen. Cristina Castro, Rep. Fred Crespo and Hanover Park Mayor Rodney Craig.

Candidates for ECC Board of Trustees can circulate nominating petitions beginning Sept. 18

Prospective candidates for the Elgin Community College District 509 Board of Trustees can begin circulating nominating petitions on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018 for the April 2, 2019 consolidated election in which two trustee positions will be up. Illinois community college trustees hold a six-year term of office.

ECC to host Sept. 15 fair featuring nearly a dozen historically black colleges and universities

Representatives from nearly a dozen Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) will be at Elgin Community College on Saturday, Sept. 15, for the second annual HBCU fair. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Jobe Lounge, located in Building B, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin, IL.
