Move ahead: Register now for spring classes at ECC
Registration is now underway for spring classes at Elgin Community College. The new semester begins Jan. 13, 2020. College staff are ready and available to help new students through the application and enrollment process, regardless of the student’s age or stage in life. Students are advised to register as soon as possible to get the best selection of courses and times, so they can build a schedule that fits with their lives and goals.

ECC receives equipment donation for Integrated Systems Technology program
Earlier this month, Elgin Community College received a donation of high-tech equipment and other items from BBS Automation Chicago, Inc. valued at $27,000. The equipment will be used to teach and train students in the Integrated Systems Technology (IST) program.

ECC’s fall commencement to be held Dec. 14
Elgin Community College will hold two commencement ceremonies for the fall 2019 graduating class on Saturday, Dec. 14. Both ceremonies will be held in the Building J Events Center, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. Students are assigned to the graduation ceremony based on the credential being earned.

Students invited to study abroad next summer in Italy through ECC
Elgin Community College, in partnership with Centro Studi Italiani, is proud to offer a new summer study abroad program in Urbania, Italy. The program provides students an immersive experience to learn the Italian language and culture. The four-week program runs from May 17 to June 14, 2020, and includes a capstone weekend in Rome.

Twin brothers selected for NASA aerospace education programs
Brothers Michael and Jackson Wozniak of Carpentersville have a lot of things in common. ECC awarded $96,000 grant to help student parents achieve their educational goals
The U.S Department of Education has awarded Elgin Community College a Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) grant. The award is for one year, with the potential for an extension of up to three more years for a total of $383,864.

ECC hosts traveling Holocaust exhibition Oct. 30 to Nov. 29
Elgin Community College’s Global/International Studies Team (GIST) and English Department are bringing the traveling exhibit, “Jehovah’s Witnesses: Faith Under Fire,” to campus from Oct. 30 to Nov. 29. The display, created by the Arnold-Liebster Foundation, showcases the relatively unknown story of the suffering and hardships endured by the Jehovah’s Witness community in Nazi Germany.

Congratulations to the 828 students named to the President’s List for the spring 2019 semester. Exciting, interactive classes are in session this summer at ECC’s Kids’ College
Registration is open for Kids’ College, a summer enrichment day camp offering a variety of classes of every interest to children and teens ages six to 15. The program runs weekly Monday through Thursday from June 17 to June 27 and July 8 to July 25, in half-day sessions that last four days each. ECC students recognized on fall 2018 President's List
Congratulations to the 864 students named to the President’s List for the fall 2018 semester. To achieve the President’s List distinction, students must complete a minimum of six credit hours of undergraduate level courses (100 level or above) during a semester with a term grade point average of 4.00.
